The luxurious Parisian department store, Printemps Haussmann is opening the largest concept store dedicated to beauty in the world. Spread over 3,000m2 and three floors, there’s everything here from massages and haircuts to manicures and the latest products from Japan (such as the more classic day cream). Whether you have 20 minutes or two hours, this concept store will surely fulfil the desires of both Parisians and foreign visitors alike. FAB gives you a guided visit.
An Innovative Method Of Consumption
Paris ordinarily thumbs its nose at malls by scattering different services – shopping and beauty of all kinds – from one street to the other. This time, both Parisians and tourists will readily stroll through this large building with its modern industrial look, restyled by architect Antonio Citterio. On the margins of the energy surrounding the department stores that line the Boulevard Haussmann in Paris, Printemps Beauté is located on an adjacent street (Rue de Caumartin). If beauty ordinarily occupies the ground floor of department stores, this time it fans out from floor to floor in a comprehensive, fun and innovative way.
Concept Store: Iconic Brands, Objects Of Curiosity
No more hubbub or smells of blended perfumes that hit us as soon as we have one foot in the door. The ground floor of Printemps Beauté sets the tone right from the entrance. The #Beautysta space, which forms the first section, offers the latest innovations in beauty from France and beyond. Alongside Carmex, scented candles and the latest detox products, you can discover at leisure a few – attainable – products from Japan, Korea or Egypt, for example.
A little farther off, a few iconic brands also have their place on the ground floor. Far from the simple corner, the brands here present a playful and innovative experience. For example, once or twice a week, Lancôme offers a make-up masterclass around a type of bar with a connected mirror. It’s sure to be a great new experience! Clarins offers a quick, personalized treatment (20 minutes) for customers who are pressed for time. A little farther off is the Louboutin space. Here, there is no red on the soles underneath your shoes but on the packaging of divine nail polishes and lipsticks. Both of which are coveted make-up products and unique objects ready to be displayed in your bathroom. “Here, brands have their own DNA. We urged them to include their storytelling in the experiences they offer, as well as their architecture,” explains Charlotte Tasset, Chief Merchandising Officer for Women’s Fashion, Lingerie and Children at Printemps Beauté.
Freshen Up From Head To Toe
Need a bite to eat, a nail touch-up or a hair styling? Everything is here, absolutely everything. As well as being welcoming, they are fast and effective. For example, there is a detox treatment where you can be pampered on a water mattress in just 30 minutes – it’s an exquisite happiness to try out. There’s more than just manicure, pedicure and eyebrow stations. This one space brings together French cosmetic experts such as Carita and Cinq Mondes, as well as a comprehensive selection of indie brands from Japan, Korea and Brazil.
Need a haircut or hair styling that will last through a day of appointments or an evening out? The salon Coiffirst, with its bespoke Kérastase treatment rituals, is here for you. And your hunger will be satisfied by the cuisine at Detox Delight. In addition to its fabled raw food and superfoods, the emblem that is now unavoidable in Paris has joined forces with chef Thierry Marx to create dishes and desserts that can be enjoyed without guilt.
Finally, on the first floor, insiders and perfumery enthusiasts can stroll through an unrivalled journey of smell. There is definitely a fragrance made for you.
It’s time for innovation in the beauty field and it’s up to you to try it.
